The Frome Topper offers a slimline, comfortable addition to your mattress, ideal for covering the join on a Zip & Link mattress or adding extra breathability to a mattress that is causing night time overheating.

    Sourced from local organic farms. Traps heat when you need it and disperses it when you don’t.

    A tightly-woven, hypoallergenic wool & cotton fibre cover meets fire regulations without the need for any chemicals whatsoever.

Our Frome topper is simple but effective, with just two natural materials combining to make a supremely breathable and adaptable slimline topper. It is a great option for covering up the split between the two sides of one of our zip and link mattresses.

It is also a perfect solution to an existing mattress that is causing you to overheat, adding in an extra layer of ventilation to improve air circulation.

We start with two layers of our local organic wool, which we source from Soil Association certified farms in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, just a few miles from our workshop. These are wrapped up in our signature cotton covers, that 100% chemical free and coated in a natural hypoallergenic treatment.

Clever Covers

​In the UK there are strict fire safety standards that mattresses & toppers must pass before they can be sold to the public. An overwhelming majority of manufacturers achieve this certification by treating their products with chemical fire retardants. ​This never sat right with us, and we worked to develop a cover fabric that met the safety requirements without the need for any chemicals whatsoever.

We are also the only mattress manufacturer to add a hypoallergenic finishing pr​ocess to our covers. We treat them with natural extracts to guarantee protection from dust mites and bed bugs - perfect for allergy sufferers, whose conditions are often triggered by these unwelcome bedfellows.

Our team of craftspeople ensure every stitch, every fibre, every tufting button and every cover is painstakingly created, teased and checked. That’s why we proudly stamp ‘Made by hand in Devon’ on all of our toppers.

Sustainable Packaging

Our toppers are rolled up and double wrapped in our signature sugarcane bioplastic packaging to keep it dry and safe in transit. We also use some of our offcut fabric strips to tie up the rolled topper, keeping it intact.

When you receive your topper, you can either recycle the bioplastic through your local council (if they collect LDPE 4 soft plastics) or drop it off at one of your local supermarkets that accept flexible plastics for recycling.
