Delivery Times

Our current delivery times are stated below are are updated weekly.

For UK Mainland deliveries of all adult-sized mattresses and beds, we send out our own two-person team who will get your items wherever you need them and assemble any bed bases and headboards. If our team can't reach you from Devon, we use national delivery services to help us go that extra mile.

For UK Mainland deliveries of nursery mattresses and adult-sized toppers, we use Fedex or DPD. If you give your mobile number when you order, the courier will send you a text to notify you of your delivery and give you a 1-hour delivery slot. Within the text message you receive will be options to change your delivery time if you prefer. 

Note: On rare occasions, delivery times may vary from those stated below - if there is to be any delay to your order you will be contacted at time of purchase.

*Troll Furniture & The Moses Basket

Troll Furniture are available in stock at our Devon workshop and will be delivered to you in 2-3 working days and the Moses Basket will be delivered in 3-5 working days. 

** Wool Bedding

Our wool bedding (including Organic Wool Pillows, Duvets and Washable Wool Protectors) is lovingly made to order, requiring an extra day or so to get ready. The lead time on these products is 3 - 5 working days.

** Next Day Delivery

If it says on the product page that the item is available for Next Day Delivery then that is correct and you can ignore these standard delivery times. 

*** The Devon Oak Bed

The current lead time for the Devon Oak Bed is 8 weeks. 

Delivery Rates

All Naturalmat mattresses are hand-made in Devon. It does take longer to produce our lovely mattresses and beds than other high-volume synthetic alternatives, but we always aim to get products to you as soon as we can. We also make every effort to keep you informed about your delivery, every step of the way.

Everyone hates extra charges, which is why, wherever we can, we don't charge delivery, even for our whopping Emperor mattresses. If we can't quite reach you from our Devon HQ we do sometimes need help with the costs. The below table is a guide to our delivery charges.

International Deliveries

Due to a number of circumstances we are currently only able to take orders to delivery locations outside of mainland UK (including Northern Ireland) by first obtaining a shipping quote. Request a shipping quote by completing this form. One of the team will be in touch with an estimate for your order including shipping. 

Please bear in mind that shipping costs are changing daily due to the current worldwide situation and the delivery quote provided will be an estimated cost as increases might occur once the shipment is ready to be booked.

Europe

For the best possible price to ship to any country in the European Union, we would require you to provide your VAT number (your National Insurance Number or the equivalent in your country) and/or an EORI number (Economic Operators Registrations and Identification number).

Please note: EORI numbers are only available for business owners. 

By having either your VAT and/or EORI number (or both if you are a business) we would be able to provide the lowest shipping quote possible. All taxes and duties for your order would be payable upon goods arriving at Customs and would be in addition to the shipping quote we provide.

Please note: Naturalmat will not be responsible for any costs incurred at customs due to delays in communications between you, the customer, and the local customs office. 

Final tax and duties costs may vary and you may be asked to settle the balance before the goods are released from customs. 

In the event that the goods are not delivered, due to no fault of Naturalmat, the shipping costs will not be refunded for all international deliveries. 

Please note: Naturalmat will not be responsible for any costs incurred at customs due to delays in communications or payment.

Without the VAT or EORI number, the shipping quotes we can obtain for you will be DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) and will include an estimate of the taxes and duties paid upon receipt of goods in your country. 

For shipments to Spain please contact us as we have a local agent.

Rest of the World (including United States of America)

For the best possible price to ship to the Rest of the World (including United States of America), we would require you to provide details of your customs broker.

If you do not have a customs broker, the shipping quotes we can obtain for you will be DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) and will include an estimate of the taxes and duties paid upon receipt of goods in your country. 

Final tax and duties costs may vary and you may be asked to settle the balance before the goods are released from customs.

We can deliver to any country in the world by request, and these deliveries will be charged at cost. As each consignment is a different size we will haggle for the best price before contacting you with delivery options. For all international mattress and furniture orders, we offer a kerbside delivery as standard. 

In the event that the goods are not delivered, due to no fault of Naturalmat, the shipping costs will not be refunded for all international deliveries.

There may be exceptions to our delivery times in certain unforeseen circumstances and whenever this is likely to happen we contact you as early as we can to discuss options.

International Delivery times vary and we will contact you with details of the quickest services available before shipping.

Furniture Assembly

For Naturalmat brand beds and bed bases, our two-person team is on hand to get it assembled for you (excluding nursery products). If you do live that bit further away from us, we brief our couriers to make sure it alls goes according to plan, although sorry, they don't put together the beds for you. Our beds are super easy to put together - however if you do need some help, please feel free to get in touch. All of our Nursery furniture is supplied either flat packed or part assembled and will require assembly of some sort. Most items are pretty simple to put together but if you don't fancy your chances we do offer a furniture assembly service for customers inside the M25 (sorry we can't go further afield!) and this is charged at £35/hr.

Packaging

We take the same eco-conscious approach to packaging our products as we do when it comes to sourcing our raw materials, or generating the energy needed for our workshop.

Bedding
Our entire range of 500 thread count organic bedding is delivered with 100% compostable and/or recyclable packaging - including biodegradable corn starch wrapping for our bedlinen, and reusable cotton drawstring bags printed with water-based ink for our duvets and pillows.

Toppers
Our toppers are rolled up and double wrapped in our signature sugarcane bioplastic packaging to keep it dry and safe in transit. We also use some of our offcut fabric strips to tie up the rolled topper, keeping it intact. When you receive your topper, you can either recycle the bioplastic through your local council (if they collect LDPE 4 soft plastics) or drop it off at one of your local supermarkets that accept flexible plastics for recycling.

Nursery Mattresses
Our Nursery mattresses are packaged in biodegradable potato starch wrapping and boxed up in partially-recycled cardboard for rigidity, which itself is recyclable and compostable.

Adult Mattresses & beds
Our larger mattresses and beds need a strong, waterproof cover to keep them clean and dry on the journey from our workshop to your bedroom. We were dismayed at the large plastic bags that were the standard option, - and decided we could do better. In March 2021, we invested in specially made reusable mattress bags that we can use again and again. Since introducing them, we've saved thousands of kilos of single-use plastic. We now deliver all our retail mattresses, beds, bases and headboards in these waterproof reusable bags as standard.

However for beds and headboards in certain delicate fabrics, and if requested by our customers, we deliver in our certified carbon-neutral bioplastic bags. These are made with a blend of sugarcane and post consumer recycled plastic - and are entirely recyclable after use. Thanks to the mighty baling machine in our Devon workshop, we are gathering all of the plastic packaging we recover from our deliveries and sending it back to be recycled into this new material.

We are constantly working to evolve and develop our sustainable packaging plan in line with our Impact Report - which is available to read here. 

Old Mattresses

We can understand that you probably want to get rid of your old mattress as soon as your new one arrives and we're happy to take it away for you. When we turn up to the recycling centre in our van however we do have to pay a charge. If you took it along yourself, it would be free, but if you just can't face it, then we are more than happy to do it for you, but we do have to charge an extra £60 to get it sorted. If you need a hand and can't realistically handle a mattress yourself, then talk to us and we'll see what we can arrange for you.

Returns

Naturalmat hope that you are happy with your purchase. Should you wish to return, refund or exchange an item, providing it has not been used, it is in its original packaging and in a re-saleable condition, we will be happy to do this for you. Please send returns within 14 days of delivery to:

We also recommend that you get a proof of posting and include a note with your name, contact number, order number and reason for returning the item and whether you want a refund or a replacement. Please note delivery and collection charges will not be refunded. Bespoke and made to measure items may not be returned (this includes any upholstered furniture). Exchanges

Naturalmat hope that you are happy with your purchase. Should you wish to exchange an item, providing it has not been used, it is in its original packaging and in a re-saleable condition, we will be happy to do this for you. Please send returns within 14 days of delivery to:
