A guide to our fabrics

Linara

What is it made of?

63% cotton and 37% linen.

The mill that weaves this fabric is ÖEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and REACH certified - strict global standards that guarantee the absence of chemicals in the fabrics to a level that would be harmful in any way to either humans or the environment.

What does it feel like?

A beautiful brushed finish with an exceptionally soft, peach-skin feel.

Where is it made?

Sourced from the famous British fabric brand Romo, their Linara range is produced in a third-generation, family-run mill in Italy.

Sustainability

The Italian mill is vertically integrated with the entire process taking place in one solar-powered factory, which ensures zero carbon footprint manufacture. They also harness and reuse the thermal energy from production, and have invested in their own water recycling plant - where up to 3,000 cubic meters of water from all their washing processes are purified per day.

Washed Linen

What is it made of?

100% linen

What does it feel like?

A dry textured feel with a cosy stonewashed appearance.

Where is it made?

Sourced from British fabric brand Kirkby design, this Chelsea linen range is woven in Italy.

Sustainability

The flax plant from which linen is made can be grown with no additional irrigation required and second only to hemp, the flax plant is the world’s most productive crop per hectare. The whole of the flax plant can be used, making linseed oil, linen and flax seeds.

Organic House Linen

What is it made of?

100% GOTS-certified organic linen

What does it feel like?

Reassuringly heavyweight yet soft with a charming slubby appearance.

Where is it made?

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified mill in Belgium

Sustainability

There is a lot to love about linen when it comes to sustainability. The flax plant from which it is made can be grown with no additional irrigation required and second only to hemp, the flax plant is the world’s most productive crop per hectare

Our 100% organic linens have all the wonderfully sustainable benefits of linen, with the additional organic accreditation that ensures that every part of the production process is carefully monitored to ensure the lowest impact on the environment and the best conditions for workers.


Colour options

Our organic house linen is available in three colours: flax, basalt and ash.

 

Velvet

What is it made of?

82% cotton & 18% polyester (100% cotton pile)

What does it feel like?

A luxuriously soft matte appearance, with a non-toxic soil and stain repellant finish

Where is it made?

Sourced from British fabric brand Kirkby design, this Ice velvet range is woven in Italy.

Our velvet is available in four colours - Anthracite, Blossom, Evergreen and Marine.

House Wool

What is it made of?

Oyster & Truffle: 80% wool, 20% linen
Marble, sandstone, slate green and travertine: 60% Pure New Wool, 35% Linen, 5% Other fibres

What does it feel like?

In both herringbone and plain weaves, our house wools combine the softness of wool with the cosy feel of linen


Where is it made?

Oyster & Truffle: Warwick fabrics
Marble, sandstone, slate green and travertine: Abraham Moon & Sons, a fully vertically integrated mill in Yorkshire that was founded in 1837

Sustainability

Wool is a 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable fibre, which is one of the reasons we love it so much. We also work with mills, like Abraham Moon & Sons, who invest in and our committed to working in a way that is environmentally and socially responsible.

Colour options

Our house wools are available in 7 colours: Oyster, Truffle, Indigo, Marble, Sandstone, Green Slate and Travertine.

 

Wool Hemp

What is it made of?

60% Wool, 40% Hemp

What does it feel like?

A weathered look with a soft handle and timeless woven aesthetic

Where is it made?

Camira use hemp entirely grown in local farms, which is combined with British wool and spun into yarn in their historic Yorkshire mill, before being woven into fabric just down the road in their purpose-built facility.

Sustainability

Like flax, hemp is a wonderfully sustainable and renewable raw material. It can be cultivated with very little impact on the environment and whilst planted it absorbs between 8 and 15 tonnes of CO2 per hectare. It is also naturally flame retardant and is biodegradable at the end of its life.
