All of the wool that goes into our bedding is sourced from Soil Association certified organic farms local to our Devon workshop.
We buy direct from farmers in Devon, Cornwall and Dorset. This means a better quality of wool for us, and a better deal for the farmers.
By working only with certified organic farmers we can be confident that the health and wellbeing of the sheep is prioritised, and that their farming is undertaken in a way that is friendly to the surrounding environment.
The Wonders of Wool.
Wool really is a wondrous fibre. Any sheep would tell you that. Its properties make it the perfect filling for duvets and pillows.
Wool is an incredibly clever natural insulator that can keep you warm or cool when you need it to, thanks to tiny pockets of air within each wool fibre that provide both insulation and breathability.
It is also naturally moisture-wicking and antimicrobial, which makes it particularly inhospitable to bed bugs and dust mites, and also provides far greater odour resistance compared to synthetic fibres.

No plastics or other single use materials are used at all. Your pillows and duvets make their way to you from Devon in their own protective cotton drawstring bag - which can then be reused as any number of things (we think they make amazing laundry bags!)

This is an honest, critical review.
Placing an order was easy, my £140 was taken swiftly and the next day (Monday morning) I received a mail asking how my service was..
Thursday my order was dispatched, and delivered the following Tuesday.
Delivery did take longer than i imagined (i was expecting a couple of days) but understand sometimes things get delayed etc.
The delivery came in a huge box, with something rattling around inside.
Completely unnecessary waste of courier space? I was really surprised, especially from an ethical company.
Anyways i opened the box and peered inside and spotted a lovely looking, thick, natural, unbleached (organic?) cotton drawstring bag.
Opening it i found a nice bleached white cotton folded mattress protector.
Real shame that natural unbleached cotton couldn't be used for the protector was my FIRST thought.
Let me be clear, this thing really smells of sheep, wow, I had read some reviews saying the same, but thought maybe they were just being pedantic, or overly citified, but noo, this thing *really* smelt. And I mean REALLY smelt!!
I put it on my bed but the smell was too overwhelming so I hung it over the hammock in the living room for a few days.
The smell of sheep filled the entire house, impressive.
My pet Wolf (i say pet, but he's really half wild) kept wanting to come in and find where i was hiding the sheep! (no Welsh farmer jokes pls)

I'm sorry to hear about the oversized box though, that does sound odd so I'll look into what happened there. It seems to do the job and fits the bed well - no complaints here! Not washed yet though so can’t yet speak for how well it washes. I’d also have preferred for it to be organic cotton in an ideal world (I didn’t want the waterproof one).

We bought one of these with our super king mattress about a year ago. I've washed it twice (20 deg with Ecover wool detergent on a gentle cycle in a 9kg washing machine) and dried it outside rather than the tumble dryer. It's shrunk about 6 inches so it doesn't cover the entire top of the mattress anymore. Co-sleeping with a baby, we need to be able to wash it every now and then. I wouldn't buy one again.
