The Tremendous Topper

I purchased this topper to go on top of a blow up mattress. My sister came to visit and said she felt like she was sleeping on a proper bed and that it was super comfortable.

We'd wanted this topper for a while and finally took the plunge and bought it - we were not disappointed! It's made our already very comfortable Naturalmat Mattress the most comfortable thing in the world. Couldn't recommend this more!

First perfectly and gives us that little extra we all need for a good sleep

We bought the Cashmere mattress in February 2025. At the time of purchase we tried the Tremendous Topper in the showroom. The staff were very helpful and advised us to try the mattress before committing to buying the topper.

Sure enough we found the mattress a little firm. I contacted Naturalmat and they advised us to let the mattress settle for a short period before committing to ordering the topper. We are in our seventies and we decided to order the topper, this was delivered within five days to suit our engagements. We now believe we have the perfect combination and have never slept so well in our five decades together!

Our old mattress was taken for recycling, altogether an eco conscious pat on the back for Naturalmat.

The sound advice and lack of sales pressure makes the purchase an enjoyable process.

We bought our topper a week or so before Christmas as a Christmas gift to ourselves. Excellent service in the shop in Witney (we also bought a duvet) and the delivery was much quicker than expected so we got the topper just in time for Christmas. Great so far!

The delivery wasn't great - they just dumped it half in the porch, half in the drive without knocking (even though we were in) which meant the wrapper got dirty.

Nothing could have prepared us for the overwhelming smell of sheep from the topper when we unwrapped it! I would have expected when purchasing an item as expensive as this (almost £900), that it would have been aired beforehand? I read that the the smell quickly goes so we put up with it, but a month later, there is still a whiff of sheep about it. Even our cat smells of sheep! I rather dread a hot and humid summer night and it's hard to imagine 5 star hotels putting these on their beds.

I read that there is a tolerance of 2cm in measurements (although I can't see why the fact that this is handmade means it can't be made to the correct size?) but our topper measures 176cm wide between the binding, which is frankly annoying.

The topper was lovely for the first few nights but settles very quickly. It's still quite comfortable but not as sumptuous as I'd expected. Even with turning and vigorous shaking (making it even more smelly!) the topper still dips each side.

I really wish I could be more enthusiastic but for an item of this price I'm very disappointed.
