A deep divan base with customisable drawer options.

The Child Coco Base is a great choice for those who prefer the look of a traditional upholstered divan base. With built-in drawers available, the Child Coco Base is also a great way of tucking some extra storage under your little one’s mattress for all of their toys, books, blankets and other goodies.

This base has a deep frame made from sustainable wood, with solid slats padded with layers of coir fibre and soft organic lambswool. Our drawers are made from sturdy plywood, and sit on heavy-duty drawer slides. With incorporated slow-close and a metal anti-fray corner trim, our drawers are built to last.

The Child Coco Base is a great starting point to build your perfect bed, and pairs excellently with our range of Child Headboards. If you’re looking for a slightly bigger version of the Child Coco Base, see our standard Coco Base.  If you require drawers on a Small Double (120cm wide) size, please select "Keep Bed Base Whole". Due to the drawer depth, Small Double Coco Bed Base can only accommodate drawers on one side when the base is whole.

Very few bed bases are built the way we build them

Handmade in Devon, properly

We handcraft our bed bases in our Devon workshop using traditional joinery techniques which ensure they last a lifetime. Unlike most bed frames which are simply stapled together, ours are glued (using a non-toxic glue) and screwed for a much sturdier and longer lasting construction. And because we make everything ourselves, we’re always happy to accommodate bespoke requests like swapping the standard feet for something different.

The natural difference

Many of the same natural and organic fibres in our mattresses feature in our bed bases too. We start with FSC-certified timber (FSC® C185003) for the frame and layer on organic coir or recycled denim depending on the design. The result is a natural bed base, completely free of synthetic foam and chemical fire retardants, which will provide years of comfort.

What You Need To Know About Delivery

  • When can I expect delivery?

    Our current delivery time for bed bases is 4-6 weeks. We’ll be in touch the week before your delivery date to discuss a convenient time and talk through any access issues for your property.

  • How will my bed base arrive?

    We will deliver your bed base in a reusable duffel bag (rather than plastic), with the base split or in one piece depending on the option you select above. Please consider whether your bed base will fit up the stairs when making this choice!

  • Will you help me build it?!

    Yes, fear not! Our bed bases are delivered by our own two person team who will take it up to your bedroom, assemble it for you and bring the reusable duffel bags back to our workshop.
