Delivery
Delivery is free of charge and our current delivery time for mattresses is 4-6 weeks. If you’d like us to take away your old mattress when we deliver please add The Mattress Recycling product to your basket. You can find more info below or on our Delivery page.

Our most luxurious pocket sprung mattress blends nature’s most decadent materials for the ultimate in comfort.
No expense has been spared to bring together this harmonious orchestra of the most prized natural mattress making materials - including cashmere and needled horsehair. All perfectly balanced with one aim in mind: a better night’s sleep, naturally.

1. Natural Latex
From the sap of the Hevea rubber tree. A springy and supportive natural alternative to synthetic foams.

2. Organic Coir
Organic coconut husk fibres, bound with rubber. Breathable, supportive, durable, and an infinitely renewable material.

3. Pocket Springs
Hand nested in individual cotton pockets and available in three tensions - firm, medium and soft.

4. Organic Wool
Sourced from local organic farms. Traps heat when you need it and disperses it when you don’t.
We combine these layers of cashmere, and horsehair needled with coconut fibres, with our signature natural latex and organic locally sourced wool. The layers unite to provide superior comfort and breathability, aiding your temperature control and allowing you a more settled night’s sleep whatever the weather. For extra support and long-term rigidity on the most wear-sensitive part of the mattress - its edges - we encase the Sumptuous’ spring unit with a hessian wrapped layer of organic coir.

Clever Covers
In the UK there are strict fire safety standards that mattresses must pass before they can be sold. An overwhelming majority of manufacturers achieve this certification by treating their products with chemical fire retardants, but this never sat right with us. So we developed a covering fabric woven exclusively from cotton and wool that met the safety requirements without the need for any chemicals whatsoever.
We are also the only mattress manufacturer to add a hypoallergenic finishing process to our covers. We treat them with natural extracts to guarantee protection from dust mites and bed bugs - perfect for allergy sufferers, whose conditions are often triggered by these unwelcome bedfellows.
Handmade in Devon
At Naturalmat, we believe that people, not machines, make a superior, long-lasting product. Our team of craftspeople ensure every stitch, every fibre, every tufting button and every cover is painstakingly created, teased and checked. That’s why we proudly stamp ‘Made by hand in Devon’ on all of our mattresses.
Sustainable Packaging
We’ve never liked the idea of delivering our beds and mattresses in reams of bulky, plastic packaging - so we challenged ourselves to get rid of it altogether.
In 2021 we introduced these sturdy, waterproof reusable delivery bags, which were specially made for us in the UK. We now deliver almost all of our beds and mattresses in these reusable bags, saving over 3,400kg of single use plastic since their introduction.

Having had our old organic mattress for 10 years, we were nervous about getting a new one but felt the time was right. The Sumptuous mattress is an absolute game changer. This is the comfiest mattress I've ever slept on and now I get to do that every single night! Love this mattress and it was well worth the extra expense. I went and tried out the selection of mattresses at the delightful Devon base and the Sumptuous stood out as the right one for us. The morning spent in Devon was lovely too, I was so well looked after and had a tour of the making area as well as the beautiful studio space. Can't speak highly enough of the whole experience. Both mattresses arrived one day early which was welcomed an extra day to sleep on the new ones delivered promptly by two very professional gentlemen who carried them upstairs and sorted them out for us. Both mattresses are very comfortable and we are very pleased. Really glad that we purchased ones that zip together. I don’t like the firm mattress which is why i chose a medium. Really pleased with the way they have been made and put together I’m sure they will last us for at least 10 years as long as they are turned every three months another reason for having them split, you do not feel the zip when lying on the mattresses so that isn’t a problem Overall well worth the money really pleased with our purchase and have recommended them to friends.

I am so pleased with my purchase. The service I received at the showroom near Exeter was exemplary in ensuring that I was able to test various mattresses so that I was able to choose the one which suited me best. Not rushed and no hard sell! I was kept informed of progress, which was very helpful, and on the day that the mattress was delivered, the old one was also taken away for recycling, etc - so helpful.
The mattress is extremely comfortable and suits me very well. I would unhesitatingly recommend this company to anyone interested in purchasing a new mattress.

What You Need To Know About Delivery

When can I expect delivery?
Our current delivery time for mattresses is 4-6 weeks. We’ll be in touch the week before your delivery date to discuss a convenient time and talk through any access issues for your property.

How does my mattress get to me?
Our mattresses are delivered by our own two man team who will take it up to your bedroom and get it all set up. We deliver our mattresses in reusable duffel bags (rather than plastic) which we will then take away again.

Can you take away my old mattress?
Absolutely! Please add the Mattress Recycling product to your order and your old mattress will either be recycled, or if it’s in good condition, it will be cleaned and donated to charity.
