The Lambswool is handcrafted with layers of natural latex and organic wool, around a thick core of organic coconut fibres, known as coir. This central layer helps provide a denser than average feel, perfect for those looking for a firmer mattress. A firm fan favourite, you could say.

Sourced from local organic farms. Traps heat when you need it and disperses it when you don’t.

From the sap of the Hevea rubber tree. A springy and supportive natural alternative to synthetic foams.

Organic coconut husk fibres, bound with rubber. Breathable, supportive, durable, and an infinitely renewable material.
In the Lambswool - our most popular Natural Fibre mattress - the firmer, denser feel comes from its core. The central layer of the mattress is made up of a thick sheet of organic coir, with thousands of coiled coconut fibres imparting a firmer feel. We sandwich this coir with two slimmer layers of natural latex to produce a mattress second only to our Mohair on the firm end of our mattress tension guide. Firmer and denser than most, but still blissfully breathable, supportive and comfortable.

Clever Covers
In the UK there are strict fire safety standards that mattresses must pass before they can be sold to the public. An overwhelming majority of manufacturers achieve this certification by treating their products with chemical fire retardants. This never sat right with us, and we worked to develop a cover fabric that met the safety requirements without the need for any chemicals whatsoever.
We are also the only mattress manufacturer to add a hypoallergenic finishing process to our covers. We treat them with natural extracts to guarantee protection from dust mites and bed bugs - perfect for allergy sufferers, whose conditions are often triggered by these unwelcome bedfellows.
Handmade in Devon
At Naturalmat, we believe that people, not machines, make a superior, long-lasting product. Our team of craftspeople ensure every stitch, every fibre, every tufting button and every cover is painstakingly created, teased and checked. That’s why we proudly stamp ‘Made by hand in Devon’ on all of our mattresses.
Sustainable Packaging
We’ve never liked the idea of delivering our beds and mattresses in reams of bulky, plastic packaging - so we challenged ourselves to get rid of it altogether.
In 2021 we introduced these sturdy, waterproof reusable delivery bags, which were specially made for us in the UK. We now deliver almost all of our beds and mattresses in these reusable bags, saving over 3,400kg of single use plastic since their introduction.

We absolutely love our Naturalmat Lambswool mattress - almost as much as we love the fact that we bought it in Super King and now have as much space to spread out as our hearts could ever desire. We love how firm the mattress is, although we have since added a 10cm-deep topper (not from Naturalmat) to provide a bit of surface cushioning. If you can afford to stretch to a Naturalmat mattress, I'm pretty sure you won't regret doing so.

So pleased with our new Lambswool mattress - actually look forward to going to bed, also, it seems to feel cool even in the hot weather which is a relief. Would recommend to anyone. We were so pleased to have the opportunity to have our previous mattress recycled, and not just chucked into landfill. Brilliant.
The other thing that's lovely, (as West Country people!) is to be able to buy a great product made here in the UK and giving people valuable jobs.

We found it slightly too firm at first but, as promised, it has softened/adjusted in use and is now extremely comfortable. In particular, the breathability and temperature regulation is a huge improvement on our previous (memory foam) mattress - I used to regularly get far too hot, but no longer - and we’re now both sleeping very well. Very happy indeed with the mattress.

What You Need To Know About Delivery

When can I expect delivery?
Our current delivery time for mattresses is 4-6 weeks. We’ll be in touch the week before your delivery date to discuss a convenient time and talk through any access issues for your property.

How does my mattress get to me?
Our mattresses are delivered by our own two man team who will take it up to your bedroom and get it all set up. We deliver our mattresses in reusable duffel bags (rather than plastic) which we will then take away again.

Can you take away my old mattress?
Absolutely! Please add the Mattress Recycling product to your order and your old mattress will either be recycled, or if it’s in good condition, it will be cleaned and donated to charity.
