Is your recycled denim chemical free & what type of dying agents have been used?

Recycled denim can be found in our Trendy Topper and Splendid Pocket Sprung Mattress, where it provides comfort and breathability.

Denim and cottons offcuts from textile factories and old used cotton clothes and jeans are washed, shredded and bonded in an oven to create this soft and breathable material, perfect for our entry-level mattresses and toppers. By using recycled materials instead of virgin (made new), we are saving tonnes of textile waste from ending up in the landfill by creating a demand for recycled materials made from waste fabric.

Since the denim and cotton in these pads comes from mixed sources - used clothes from consumers and fabric offcuts from textile factories - it is incredibly difficult to pin point exactly where the fibres that go into our recycled pads have come from. While we have been assured that our supplier does not use any chemicals in the manufacturing process, we are unable to trace the dyes and chemicals that might have been used in originally making the fabrics being recycled.
