Since 2015, Cornish Beds has been part of the Naturalmat group, after our founders Mark and Peter, keen supporters of Southwest businesses learnt that Cornish Beds were looking for someone new to take the reins of this small yet strikingly unique business.
Over the years, together, we have created beautiful bed designs to complement their more traditional models, which tastefully blend authentic Victorian metalwork with soft upholstery shapes, filled with the same natural and sustainable materials we use in our mattresses.

Traditional and authentic, the Agnes is adorned with authentic castings and recognisable curved top rails. A clip-on headboard cushion is a must-have accessory, filled with recycled denim and organic wool, which we also use in our mattresses.

Why Cornish Beds?
Cornish Beds are made by hand with the very best materials including British steel, heavy duty brass finials and top caps, durable powder coated finishes, antiqued and lacquered brassware and are complemented with superbly supportive and robust bed bases, made by Naturalmat.
Every bed has their unique cast knuckle joint to attach the side rails to the head and foot of the bed. This self locking system ensures a lifetime of service, and is incomparable to modern flat pack beds that are held together with often flimsy bolts.
The second Cornish Bed in my life had to be exported to Austria. From beginning to end service was excellent, everything arrived as expected and I am as happy with the product as with my first Cornish bed that I have had for 20 years.

At the foundry, a grade-II listed building, which boasts one of the first train turn-tables in the country, previously used to turn steam engines for Great Western Railway their craftsmen handmake beautiful brass, nickel and cast-iron beds. It’s a time-honoured Victorian method of building metal beds, which the team are proud to practise and perfect.
