Our ecru GOTS certified organic hemp bed linen set is handmade for us in Portugal using 100% organic hemp.

It’s hard to imagine a more sustainable natural fibre so perfectly suited to making bed linen. Hemp’s long fibres not only make it wonderfully breathable, helping you regulate your temperature throughout the night, they also give it a soft yet structured feel and a relaxed, casually wrinkled look.

Hemp’s ability to grow with very little water and zero pesticides, whilst at the same time improve soil health by returning nutrients back to the earth through its deep roots, makes it an incredibly sustainable crop. What's more, by using GOTS certified organic hemp, you can sleep soundly knowing that the farmers make a decent living in good working conditions.

Why Hemp?

Organic hemp is a genuinely revolutionary fabric. The texture of its natural design makes each piece unique, and the drape and wrinkled look are heavenly. However, its sustainable features are what makes it remarkable.

Like flax, growing hemp has far less impact on the local and global landscape. Requiring little water and zero pesticides to grow, it's also highly efficient at removing carbon dioxide from the air. In turn, it improves soil health by returning nutrients back to the earth through its deep roots.

Why Organic?

All of our organic linen bed linen is certified by the Soil Association to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), which is the most stringent organic certification.

It ensures that the least amount of water and zero harmful chemicals or pesticides have been used in the production process, and that the farmers who grow and process the crop are treated well and paid a fair living wage.

This means you can rest assured that you’re sleeping on sheets that are healthier for you, and better for the planet.

Why Portugal?

We’re proud to handcraft practically everything we do here in Devon, but for our bed linen it makes far more sense to work with a partner who specialises in exactly that. So for our organic linen and hemp, we headed to Portugal, home to some of the finest textile mills and skilled makers in the world. There, we found a GOTS certified partner with impressive sustainability credentials, including a workshop powered by the solar panels on its roof (sound familiar?) and a system to recycle the water they use in the production process.

    Love my Hemp fitted sheet!

    I was very happy to see that you offered 100% hemp bedding. I always buy linen but jumped on the chance to buy your hemp sheets, duvet cover and pillowcases. They are so comfortable. I hope they sell well so that you might offer some other colours / patterns in the future.

    Love my Hemp Duvet Cover

    I was very happy to see that you offered 100% hemp bedding. I always buy linen but jumped on the chance to buy your hemp sheets, duvet cover and pillowcases. They are so comfortable. I hope they sell well so that you might offer some other colours / patterns in the future.

    The only reason I gave this part of the set 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are no loops or strings for me to tie the duvet corners. You offer ties on your duvets but without something to attach them to the inside of the duvet, it's pointless. All my linen duvet covers I've purchased in the past have loops or ties for me to attach the duvet so it stays in place.
