It’s hard to imagine a more sustainable natural fibre so perfectly suited to making bed linen. The long fibres in our organic hemp duvet cover not only make it wonderfully breathable, helping you regulate your temperature throughout the night, they also give it a soft yet structured feel and a relaxed, casually wrinkled look.
Hemp’s ability to grow with very little water and zero pesticides, whilst at the same time improve soil health by returning nutrients back to the earth through its deep roots, makes it an incredibly sustainable crop. What's more, by using GOTS certified organic hemp, you can sleep soundly knowing that the farmers make a decent living in good working conditions.

Why Hemp?
Organic hemp is a genuinely revolutionary fabric. The texture of its natural design makes each piece unique, and the drape and wrinkled look are heavenly. However, its sustainable features are what makes it remarkable.
Like flax, growing hemp has far less impact on the local and global landscape. Requiring little water and zero pesticides to grow, it's also highly efficient at removing carbon dioxide from the air. In turn, it improves soil health by returning nutrients back to the earth through its deep roots.

Why Organic?
All of our organic hemp bed linen is certified by the Soil Association to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), which is the most stringent organic certification.
It ensures that the least amount of water and zero harmful chemicals or pesticides have been used in the production process, and that the farmers who grow and process the crop are treated well and paid a fair living wage.
This means you can rest assured that you’re sleeping on sheets that are healthier for you, and better for the planet.
Why Portugal?
We’re proud to handcraft practically everything we do here in Devon, but for our bed linen it makes far more sense to work with a partner who specialises in exactly that. So for our organic linen and hemp, we headed to Portugal, home to some of the finest textile mills and skilled makers in the world. There, we found a GOTS certified partner with impressive sustainability credentials, including a workshop powered by the solar panels on its roof (sound familiar?) and a system to recycle the water they use in the production process.

I purchased these from the Knutsford shop, I travelled up from Derby.
Not disappointed lovely quality, after laundering they were soft though they are expensive I would recommend. I plan to buy a flat sheet next.

The hemp bedding is to my surprise is lovely and soft to sleep on. I like to enter a bed that feels as though it has been plucked from a field and not messed with. When we sleep our warm bodies soak in the bed and all that it is made off. Not a worry here. Unbleached, organic, sustainable. Thank goodness!

Must admit we were quite sceptical of hemp bed linen initially but actually it's bloody lovely! Soft, relaxed and cosy, nice colour, we're very happy with it!
