Since 1999 we’ve pioneered the use of organic and natural materials to create wonderfully comfortable beds & natural mattresses at our workshop on the banks of the River Exe in Devon.

Three principles that have remained at the heart of everything we do since we got started over 25 years ago. We begin with carefully sourced organic and natural materials, which are lovingly combined in our Devon workshop by our team of local craftspeople. All of this with sustainability at our core, from day one.

Beds
Our beds combine sustainably-sourced timber and the same natural fibres we use in our mattresses. Each one is handcrafted in our Devon workshop using traditional joinery and upholstery techniques. Beautiful, durable, practical, and available in our range of organic house fabrics.
Mattresses
We make two types of natural mattress – Natural Fibre & Pocket Sprung. Both contain layers of natural, organic fibres, and Pocket Sprung mattresses include a core of springs. Natural Fibre mattresses have a firmer, denser feel, whilst Pocket Sprung mattresses are softer & bouncier.
Toppers
Great for adding that extra layer of luxury or reviving an ageing mattress, our toppers are made with the same natural, organic materials that run through everything we do. With free delivery in 3-5 working days, you’ll feel the difference in no time!
Bedding
Complete your natural sleep experience with our range of pillows, duvets, bed linen & throws, made with locally-sourced organic wool, soft feathers and down, and GOTS-certified organic cotton, linen or hemp.

For us, sustainability isn’t a bandwagon we've recently jumped on, it’s been at the heart of Naturalmat from the very beginning. From the certified natural fibres we source, to our solar-powered workshop and plastic-free deliveries, we’ve pioneered sustainability in our industry for over 25 years.
Our Bed for Life Initiative™ – the UK’s first bed and mattress refurbishment scheme – keeps our beds out of landfill and in use longer, so the mattress you invest in today doesn’t have to cost the earth later.
We’re proud to be the first B Corp certified bed and mattress company in the UK, and winners of the 2026 King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainability.
