Standing at just 32cm tall, 9cm lower than the bestselling original Ottoman Base, The Low Ottoman Base is ideal for smaller spaces or children’s rooms.

With its sleek, low-profile design, you won’t compromise on style. Gas struts effortlessly lift the mattress to reveal generous under-bed storage, perfect for tucking away duvets, bedding, and more. Despite its reduced height, this low Ottoman bed offers exceptional storage capacity, proving that, in some ways, less is more.

This base is available in sizes from single to emperor, but can also be made to measure to suit your custom size requirements. The base can be upholstered in our range of natural fabrics, including our Organic House Linen and House Wools. Alternatively, we can upholster your low Ottoman in a fabric you supply. Very few bed bases are built the way we build them

Handmade in Devon, properly

We handcraft our bed bases in our Devon workshop using traditional joinery techniques which ensure they last a lifetime. Unlike most bed frames which are simply stapled together, ours are glued (using a non-toxic glue) and screwed for a much sturdier and longer lasting construction. And because we make everything ourselves, we’re always happy to accommodate bespoke requests like swapping the standard feet for something different.

The natural difference

Many of the same natural and organic fibres in our mattresses feature in our bed bases too. We start with FSC-certified timber for the frame and layer on organic coir or recycled denim depending on the design. The result is a natural bed base, completely free of synthetic foam and chemical fire retardants, which will provide years of comfort.

What You Need To Know About Delivery

  • When can I expect delivery?

    Our current delivery time for bed bases is 4-6 weeks. We’ll be in touch the week before your delivery date to discuss a convenient time and talk through any access issues for your property.

  • How will my bed base arrive?

    We will deliver your bed base in a reusable duffel bag (rather than plastic), with the base split or in one piece depending on the option you select above. Please consider whether your bed base will fit up the stairs when making this choice!

  • Will you help me build it?!

    Yes, fear not! Our bed bases are delivered by our own two person team who will take it up to your bedroom, assemble it for you and bring the reusable duffel bags back to our workshop.
