​Named after the Haldon Forest just 20 minutes from our HQ in Devon, the Haldon’s plush upholstered headboard contrasts beautifully with the raw, unvarnished solid oak frame.


The headboard
​​The Haldon's pleated headboard comes stuffed full of cosy organic West Country wool, all sourced from Soil Association certified farmers local to our Devon HQ.

​No foams involved in providing the comfort here, just organic wool and recycled denim pad out the Haldon's headboard, that's perfect for cosying up to with a good book.


The base
Made by hand in Devon from solid oak, the Haldon’s base is left free of varnish to allow the beautiful wood grain to bask in all its natural glory.

​Combined with supportive sprung beech slats, this is a bed base carefully handcrafted to provide a lifetime's worth of comfort and style.

Please note that unless otherwise specified, bed bases from a Small Double and larger come split in two (head to toe) as standard, for ease of delivery.

Very few beds are built the way we build them

Handmade in Devon, properly

We handcraft our beds in our Devon workshop using traditional joinery techniques which ensure they last a lifetime. Unlike most bed frames which are simply stapled together, ours are glued (using a non-toxic glue) and screwed for a much sturdier and longer lasting construction. And because we make everything ourselves, we’re always happy to accommodate bespoke requests like making headboards taller or wider, or swapping the standard feet for something different.

The natural difference

Many of the same natural and organic fibres in our mattresses feature in our beds too. We start with FSC-certified timber for the frame and layer on organic coir or recycled denim depending on the design. The headboard is then wrapped in locally sourced organic wool before being finished with one of our natural fabrics. The result is a natural bed, completely free of synthetic foam and chemical fire retardants, which will provide years of comfort.

What You Need To Know About Delivery

  • When can I expect delivery?

    Our current delivery time for beds is 4-5 weeks. We’ll be in touch the week before your delivery date to discuss a convenient time and talk through any access issues for your property.

  • How will my bed arrive?

    We will deliver your bed in a reusable duffel bag (rather than plastic), with the base split or in one piece depending on the option you select above. Please consider whether your bed will fit up the stairs when making this choice!

  • Will you help me build it?!

    Yes, fear not! Our beds are delivered by our own two person team who will take it up to your bedroom, assemble it for you and bring the reusable duffel bags back to our workshop.

    Excellent build quality. Lifted to drill holes for extra side 'headboard' months after purchase so saw the clean workmanship and even date & initials pencilled on by carpenter.
