GOTS Organic Wool

We’re especially proud of our organic wool, sourced from farms across Devon, Dorset and Cornwall, close to our workshop on the banks of the River Exe. A local natural resource, for a locally made product.

Certified organic to GOTS standards by either the Soil Association or Organic Farmers & Growers, our wool is a wonderful natural insulator, trapping heat when you need it and dispersing it when you don’t. It’s also naturally fire-retardant and antimicrobial, helping us create a healthier, more natural night’s sleep.

Healthy flock, happy farmers

Behind every mattress, bed, pillow and duvet is a network of local farmers who help make it all possible. The people behind our wool are based on our South West doorstep, where they produce the Soil Association-certified organic wool that goes into almost everything we make. By working directly with these farmers, we can trace our wool right back to the fields where it was grown, while supporting the farming communities that supply it.

Buying direct also means we can pay farmers fairly for their wool. Rather than relying on standard market auctions, we offer a premium of at least 30% above market rates, reflecting the value we place on both the material and the people who produce it. By sourcing exclusively from certified organic farms, we can also be confident that the wool comes from flocks raised to high standards of animal welfare, with careful stewardship of both the sheep and the land they graze.

It also adds softness to the mattress, working in harmony with the coir and latex layers beneath.
